We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager, based in Stevenage.
As Subsystems Technical Project Manager, you will be accountable for leading a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a systems project into UK and non-UK programmes. This role has responsibility across the whole product lifecycle, for delivery on time, cost, and quality.
This role suits an individual who is interested in both project and technical management of a design team and project team, requiring the production and updating of costed engineering plans and working with other project teams to ensure customer needs are met. In addition to your primary role in expediting a programme of work you'll be supporting the wider technology plans and re-use strategies to ensure that the product is aligned with future business needs.
Generate the Statement of Work for the Sub-System and provide technical input to Sub-System supplier assessments and selection.
Act as the technical interface for the subsystem design authority and the main project
Oversee the derivation and co-specification of the Sub-System requirements baseline (e.g. Technical Requirements Specification, Environmental Requirements Specification, etc.) and interface definitions (Physical Requirements Drawing, Electrical Interface Definition, Functional Interface Definition, etc.).
Review Sub-System performance & compliance throughout the development phase and, where necessary, facilitate requirements trades with the Project Team and Design Authority to address identified risks & non-compliances.
Provide overall Technical/Programme management of the Work Package to ensure On-Time, On-Cost, On-Quality delivery of the Sub-System into the Project.
It is essential that you have the following Qualifications and Skills:
Ideally degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline with relevant working experience.
Good engineering judgment / understanding, ideally with experience of some or all of the following areas: Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Stress, Safety, Environmental, Reliability, Production, Project Management.
A Passion to achieve success.
Experience of delivering subcontracted subsystems.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills supported by office IT software skills.
Application of appropriate personal behaviours including self-motivation, initiative, leadership, adaptability, planning and organisation.
Capability to travel in the UK/Europe/US/Etc. on a regular basis.
