Your knowledge of Aerospace Systems Engineering and strong experience of team and project management, will play a crucial part leading multiple engineering development projects, responsible for technical and process compliance, recurring and non-recurring costs, adherence to agreed program and project milestones throughout the project life cycle as a Technical Project Manager.

About the Role:

The client requires a Technical Project Manager to be responsible for leading multiple engineering development projects. The job includes;
* Delivering system which is fit for purpose and compliant with requirements in collaboration with Lead Engineers.
*Coordination of the different lead engineers of the project.
*Represent Technical function in the Program team
*Manage Programme / Customer / Authorities communication for engineering related matters
*Ensure that the technical decisions made in the project are compatible with Program objectives and lead to the best overall outcomes.
*Project planning and reporting;
*Organise and lead the project (WBS, OBS, development logic, top level schedule, SOW engineering) in accordance with the programme objectives for engineering part.
*Identify resourcing requirements and maintain the project plan in line with assigned resources
*Forecasting engineering resource needs (human and financial) for budgeting and financial control purposes
*Ensure projects are delivered to financial targets for Engineering Non-Recurring Costs and Recurring Costs by Design given by the Programme.
*Ensure project deliverables are delivered to the agreed timescale
*Manage technical risks (identification, quotation, mitigation, escalation)
*Provide necessary KPI's to the programme and engineering management.
*Ensure compliance with Airworthiness requirements
*Deliver definition of and adherence to project milestones, both external and internal
*Manage the system configuration at programme level and with customer (Leads Change Control Boards with the customer).
*Request technical audits when necessary.
*Ensure project considers Design to Industrialisation (D2I) and Design For Manufacture (DFM)
*Support the lead engineers in interfacing between different CoEs.

About You:

To be suitable for the Technical Project Manager role, you will need to be educated to Degree in a related discipline or have equivalent experience with experience of successfully leading and delivering a cross-functional package of work. Systems design experience, preferably in the aerospace or similar formal, safety critical environment with experience of being a Lead Engineer/ Technical Project Manager on product or system before. A sound understanding of a variety of design and development processes is needed with an ability to analyse and resolve complex safety critical problems by devising and negotiating creative and effective solutions. You will need to lead and coach teams, generate and maintain performance metrics and have experience of the Verification & Validation development cycle.
An understanding of Airworthiness requirements, familiarity with common aerospace engineering standards e.g. DO-160, DO-254, DO-178 etc. and experience of working with suppliers, e.g. defining Statements of Work, would be useful.
