Your experience as a Test Engineer will be critical to our client, an industry leader and pioneer of mobile satellite communications.
They are currently seeking a Test Engineer to autonomously conduct lab-based and in-flight testing on connectivity and entertainment solutions provided by a satellite network. This role will be UK based in London.

The Role - Test Engineer:
We are looking for a motivated, passionate, and professional individual to join our Test team as a Test Engineer.
*Conduct customer product demonstrations.
*Execution of the system, acceptance, and regression test campaigns.
*Record test results and supporting evidence in a test management tool (i.e. JIRA).
*Identify and raise defects, for escalation to the relevant parties, including sufficient information to reproduce the defect.
*Assist the senior engineers in the creation of the test report at the completion of the campaign.
*Create test procedures to support system and acceptance test campaigns.
*Work with the field service engineers to support flight AOG testing, when required.
*Assist the senior engineers in the management of all test related meetings.
*Design and build tools to be used to autonomously test our lab-based, and in-flight, solutions over local, mobile and satellite networks.
*Produce concise technical documentation, such as requirements documents, system architecture documents, test plans and results, user guides, etc.
*Conduct training on the use of the designed tools, including training material (documentation, etc.).
*Developing and improving design processes.
*Communicate effectively, with excellent spoken and written English.
*Produce clear, well-structured documentation.
*Work well within a team.
*Work well within an Agile development environment.
*Able to work autonomously and have a good eye for detail.
*Comfortable travelling alone and interfacing with our international customers.
*Be flexible and have the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
*Diligently focus on and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
*Able to identify and systematically analyse problems/issues/bugs.
*A hacker's mentality (out-of-the-box thinking) for solving complex network challenges.
*Previous related work experience and a degree in a relevant technical subject (Engineering/Physics/Computing/Networking/etc.).
*Previous experience in testing and/or fault analysis.
*Understanding of OO Principles (Java, C++) and Scripting Languages (Python)
*Have in-depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP-IP/DNS/DHCP/Network Routing/ICMP).
*Good experience in API testing (Unit, Functional, Load Testing etc.)
* languages: Python, Batch, Bash, VB, etc.
**Experience using test management packages (JIRA).
*Good knowledge of test automation software (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin)
*Quality Assurance and Project Management experience would be advantageous.
*Have experience testing user interfaces (UI/UX).
*Have experience in testing within satellite systems, or telecommunication networks.
