Job Description
About the role:
*Lead investigations and root cause analysis of product and process non-conformance to support business improvement and improved product quality.
*Ensure the development, maintenance and modification of Engineering processes, procedures and tools in assigned area, in response to quality related issues.
*Carry out a full range of technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of product and process quality.
*Provide expertise and support to cross-functional quality investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are put in place and interface with other Engineering groups with respect to quality investigations, diagnostics, data collection, collation and analysis
*Assist preparation for Product Gate - co-ordinate inputs, review from quality perspective, assist team members to improve input to acceptable standard if deficiencies exist.
*Review missile level quality plans - identify how to create a common seeker quality plan based on minimum change from these documents.
*This plan should identify any deviations from standard working practices that are planned for seeker development.
*Start to consider supplier quality issues - review requirements being provided and responses being offered.
*Production line readiness review - assist with identifying how this will be performed. Identify activities that will be required to ensure they are built into the industrialisation plan.
You will have the following experience:
*Preferably degree educated, or substantial experience in Engineering and Quality Management
*Practitioner of current QA problem solving methods (8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.
*Significant and demonstrable experience of working in a design environment, preferably electronics or high end complex electronic systems.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
*Knowledge of the Quality Tools and an understanding of non-conformance management using SAP would be an advantage
*Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
*Highly self-motivated and demonstrate a determination and persistence to deliver results despite obstacles and setbacks.
*Position is based in Stevenage, but will require provision of support to design at other sites.
*Some travel (both UK and international) will be required.
