About the Job:
The client requires a Vehicle Trials Engineer (Mechanical Systems) specialising in the Survivability of specialist vehicles. The job will involve:
*Survivability support to system design activities
*Preparing, overseeing and reporting Survivability tests and trials at both mechanical sub system and vehicle level for the Specialist Vehicle programme (including armour and RP netting).
*Root cause analysis and investigation relating to the Survivability domain product as required.
*Support to production activities relating to the Survivability domain product.
*Preparation, configuration and change management of Survivability related Engineering artefacts (specifications, interface control documents, test specifications, test reports etc.)
*Liaison with the customer during design reviews/workshops etc.
*Mechanical System and Sub-system issues management and resolution including reporting.
*Provide information and metrics to the Team Lead to enable management reporting.
To be the right fit for this Vehicle Trials Engineer (Mechanical Systems) job, you will need a mechanical engineering background and experience planning, undertaking and reporting on tests and trials.
Experience working in the Defence industry or military vehicles would be highly beneficial but not essential (can also consider Rail, Automotive and Aerospace). Direct experience in the field of Survivability is not essential.
