Job Description

Your experience as a Workshop Manager will be highly valuable to my client, they are a rapidly expanding global organisation with active involvement in many key marine, offshore oil & gas, and industrial sectors. Operating worldwide on a 24/7 basis, their emphasis is on cost effective repair, preventative maintenance, and conversion work.

You will be responsible for ensuring all operational activities are correctly planned, resourced, actioned and completed on time within a given budget. You will be the figure head of a key part of the groups business in terms of manufacture and supply of bespoke products.

Responsibilities for this role are:

*Implement lean manufacturing techniques and cyclic review periods of workshop capacity in terms of layout and ergonomics
*To manage and oversea all inter-department activities, monitor resource allocation against overhead allowance, to ensure processes are working efficiently
*Assess current labour requirements and planning in a forward look ahead, based on workload schedule
*Create a maintenance schedule for the upkeep of workshop equipment and assets
*Instil a solid health and safety and environmentally friendly culture
*Maintain a core team of workshop foreman with specific job descriptions with ownership of such divisions
*Introduction of visual production boards
*Ensure end of workshop project reviews are carried out
*Ensure integrated management systems that are in place are being followed and nominate internal personnel to conduct internal audits for the manufacturing work

To be suitable for this role your skills and qualifications will include:

*Previous experience as a Workshop Manager
*Proven experience of implementing lean manufacturing techniques in an engineering workshop environment
*Good people management skills
*Valid driving license
*Valid passport as occasional travel abroad may be required
*Good organisational skills
*Problem solving skills
*Sense of urgency - make things happen
