Safety Manager £65,000 - £70,000 per annum : Wiltshire/Hybrid
Summary of Position:
As a pivotal member of the Engineering Team, the Safety Manager plays a critical role in providing safety leadership, direction, and technical guidance to advance the Safety business area, align with strategic objectives, and meet client-facing requirements. The Safety Manager will be responsible for pioneering the development and expansion of safety capabilities within the company, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and client satisfaction. Working collaboratively with the Client's Engineering Team and Capability Pillars, the Safety Manager identifies and seizes business opportunities, especially in the Defense sector, and excels in Acquisition and In-Service Safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the growth of the internal safety capability within the Client.
Provide client-facing safety consultancy and ensure safety compliance across the Client's project portfolio.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and lead or support activities to secure future projects.
Conduct assessments and critiques of safety work, including the assurance of client-facing deliverables.
Offer business and technical advice to the Head of Engineering and Senior Management Team.
Provide market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.
Cultivate relationships with key customer decision-makers.
Stay updated on industry-leading technology, policies, and best practices.
Ensure the highest quality of safety outputs and outcomes for clients.
Support and mentor employees to foster their growth
Capture and disseminate knowledge for the Safety capability.
Line management of individual consultants.
Relevant Qualifications and Experience:
SC security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Expert/practitioner status in safety disciplines.
Certified knowledge of the Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System (ASEMS).
Knowledge and experience in Safety Case management, Hazard Logs, Safety Legislation, and Defense Safety Authority (DSA).
CEng professional qualification or relevant safety equivalent, and membership in a relevant Professional Safety or Engineering Institute.
Prior senior safety role experience with Delegated Authority as a Senior Safety Representative (SSR).
Extensive experience in the use of System Safety Management Tools & Processes.
Proven ability to manage complex safety requirements within the Defense sector.

Confident, outgoing, and skilled at building strong relationships.
Able to work effectively within a team in a matrix management organisation, showcasing strong management and leadership abilities.
Possesses a customer-centric mindset and understands the importance of delivering exceptional customer service.
Due to the nature of work undertaken by our client, incumbents of these positions are required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK Security Vetting to SC Level.
