About the Role:
The client requires a Business Quality Manager to be responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the required standards of quality through the direction and coordination of the quality assurance programmes and quality control policies. The Business Quality Manager also ensures that the QMS applied is appropriate for the task and is maintained to reflect the changing nature of the business and emerging customer requirements. This role includes:
*Maintaining the Quality Manual, the QMS and setting standards for quality within the business
*Managing the internal and external Quality audit process ensuring maintenance of the required accreditation
*Overseeing the maintenance and update of quality procedures, standards and specifications
*Monitoring the compliance with and satisfaction of customer requirements for quality
*Supporting Purchasing in the definition of appropriate quality requirements for external suppliers
*Ensuring that design, manufacturing, test and repair processes meet international and national standards
*Participating in reviews aimed and increasing material and resource efficiency and reduce waste
*Monitoring and reporting the extent of Rework and supporting the implementation of remedial tasks
*Assessing and communicating performance through the generation and submission of Quality trend reports
*Promoting the requirements for Quality Assurance within the Senior Management Team and business functional leads
*Monitoring the Quality Assurance resource forward load requirements and structuring the Quality Assurance department to ensure that the required level of SQEP support is provided into the business and the associated organisation is right sized and fit for purpose
*Leading the recruitment of SQEP Quality Assurance staff when departmental requirements are identified
*Ensuring that Quality Assurance staff training and development is provided at an appropriate level to all practitioners and as defined within the Departmental Training Plan
*Supporting and participating in all customer acceptance activities and supporting the business in the resolution of all areas of non-conformance
*Reviewing and approving project Quality Assurance Plans ensuring that the plans are representative of the required scope and current in terms of legislative and regulatory requirements
To be suitable for the Business Quality Manager role, you will need to be, educated to Degree level or equivalent in an Engineering or Engineering related discipline and have an advanced understanding of ISO9001 / AS9100 requirements. You will need knowledge of ISO14001 / ISO27001 / CMMI / UK and will ideally have worked on MOD Project Teams / UK MOD design and certification requirements and accreditations (DAOS/AAOS). Understanding of high and low volume manufacturing techniques and QA and a sound knowledge of root cause analysis techniques is also required. It would also be useful to have experience of implementation, maintenance and improvement of a QMS and in a design and manufacturing organisation with electrical/ electronic/ software content as well as experience of managing teams and individuals.
