We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a busy team.
The main duties of the role will include:
-Identifying potential opportunities to position the organisation as a preferred supplier to clients (both in defence and non-defence industries)
-Drafting contract documents for our Suppliers ensuring commercial risks are mitigated by adequate flow down of terms and conditions commensurate with the activities to be subcontracted
-Providing pre-contractual advice and guidance to ensure correct early engagement with potential suppliers, partners and associates, including non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements and memoranda of understanding
-Providing commercial support, advice and assistance for the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires, bids, tenders, contractual agreements and clarifications and exceptions in accordance with statutory and internal requirements
-Preparing, proof-reading and submitting tenders and Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses to Clients to the required standard and to required deadlines
-Ensuring Supplier due diligence checks are performed to ensure integrity of our supply chain.
-Managing Intellectual Property matters
-Reviewing, amending and, where necessary, successfully negotiating contract terms and conditions with Clients and Suppliers
-Responsible for maintaining adherence to the bid management process for the business.
-Providing support and advice to Project Managers and Bid Managers and ensuring all parties strive for optimal commercial solutions
-Professional development and mentoring of commercial team
-A degree (or equivalent) in Commercial law
-Knowledge and experience of UK company and contract law
-Proven experience in understanding and drafting terms and conditions from both a Client and Supplier perspective
-Experience within a commercial role and in undertaking contract negotiations that achieve win/win outcome
-Diligence in reviewing documentation and attention to detail in all work tasks
-Experience of analysing and manipulating numerical data
-Excellent verbal and written English communication skills coupled with good computer and MS office abilities productive and focused approach to achieving goals and objectives
-Supervisory or management experience preferable
-The ability to produce quality output whilst managing conflicting priorities
-The ability to interact positively, assertively and effectively with internal and external customers, partners and associate
-Experience of UK MOD contracting would be an advantage, but is not essential
