Hardware Engineer
Your experience as a Hardware Engineer would add immediate value to my client who is a world leading engineering and electronics company specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of navigation, radar and ship controls systems.
Job Description/Role
The purpose of this role is to support the Engineering department to deliver on its current and future commitments. Sperry Marine has a busy and exciting product roadmap and this role presents an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who is looking to make a difference. The successful candidate will support existing products as well as assisting on new product development. There are longer-term opportunities to take on responsibility for areas of the Sperry Marine product portfolio.

-Assisting hardware and system design authorities in the conduct of their work; undertaking fault investigations, testing equipment, generating test reports, raising change notes, liaising with supply chain management, etc.
-Supporting new product development; setting up equipment, conducting testing (inc. test houses and sea trials), and generating technical documentation.
-Maintaining the lab environment including the build state of the Integrated Bridge System (IBS).
-To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements.

Essential Skills

-Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering / technical subject (e.g. electrical/electronic engineering or similar).
-Knowledge of radar principles and design
-Able to read and interpret engineering documents, drawings, schematics etc.
Desirable
Electrical/Electronic knowledge.
-Experience conducting EMC/Vibration/Shock qualification testing with external test houses.
-Able to produce technical/project documentation to required format/standards.
-Systems definition, design, integration, acceptance and analysis experience.
-Knowledge of marine specific standards (e.g. IEC 60945, IEC61162-1/2/450/460).
