Your experience of Process improvement and in depth knowledge of using Lean principles to improve manufacturing environments, will play a crucial part in managing continuous improvement to ensure production lines are running efficiently. Using your expertise in production optimisation and new process methods you will provide vital support for the Manufacturing department.

You will be working for a leading manufacturer of AC and DC variable speed drives, servos and power conversion technologies for commercial and industrial applications. About the Job:

The client requires a Senior Process Engineer to support the Manufacturing department by utilise past experiences and skills to support all manufacturing processes across the plant. This will include continuously improving current processes as well as designing processes for the future in order to meet demand. This job includes:
To proactively manage continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes to ensure cost, quality and output targets are achieved.
Identify and remove process bottlenecks through capacity planning.
Design, development and maintenance of manufacturing processes based on Lean methodology.
To ensure safe working practices are in place, documented and adhered to.
Purchase order sign off, budget control and authorisation for engineering spend.
Support New Product Introduction projects throughout the plant.
Lead, mentor and coach the manufacturing process team.
Weekly/Monthly reporting of KPI's through process, quality and POR forums.

About You:

To be a good fit for the Process engineer job, you will need an HNC / HND/ degree (or similar) in an engineering related discipline and Lean or Six Sigma training, as well as some on the job experience in an automotive or electronics manufacturing environment. Strong technical knowledge of printed circuit board (SMT and PTH technologies) and electro-mechanical box level assembly processes and product flow is desired, as is proven experience in project management. Experience with CAD, technical drawings and design specifications and knowledge of structured development and improvement techniques such as DFM, PFMEA, Lean, Six-Sigma, SPC & 8D is useful along with a good understanding of BOMs, ECNs and circuit diagrams.
