About the Job:
The successful candidate will contribute to and lead tasks at different stages in the engineering lifecycle. Tasks assigned will be varied and include analysing and defining customer requirements, architectural design, solution development, solution integration, and verification. The successful candidate will be expected to work with multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver solutions that meet customer needs to a defined quality standard within agreed timescales and budgets.
Development and documentation of Solution Designs using UML modelling tool
Development, documentation, verification and support of SDKs for use by 3rd parties
Development, documentation, verification and support of integration harness for use by 3rd parties.
Development, documentation, verification and support of behavioural modelling and simulation tools
Work with external and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and agree designs/solutions to satisfy those requirements.
Undertake analysis of design changes to confirm feasibility and impacts on the system to inform implementation decisions.
Work with specialist and support engineering groups (including security, safety, ILS, human factors) as required to validate designs with solution impacts considered.
Accurate and timely reporting of progress and escalation of issues to Programme and Engineering management.
Demonstrates understanding of the system engineering lifecycle and phases, and challenges associated with system engineering in a delivery focussed, commercially successful organisation.
Experienced in engineering methods and tools for elaborating architectures and system requirements.
Experienced in engineering methods and tools for system modelling (SysML)
A belief in and understanding of the benefits of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience in roles that demonstrate strong technical leadership and application of system engineering skills, with a track record of delivery.
Confident and effective dealing with Customers, End Users and 3rd parties.
Defence/aerospace industry background
Familiar with tactical network infrastructures including networks, radios and system management considerations.
Experienced in the use of the following engineering tools: DOORS, Artisan Studio, IBM Rational Rhapsody, HP Quality Centre
Knowledge of security processes and controls for secure military systems
37 hours a week
£36,000 - £45,000 + bonus, flexi-time, pension
