The Role:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be the primary focal point for all commercial aspects of the business, encompassing:
- Strategic Commercial Leadership: Drive the commercial management of the company’s current and future project portfolio, ensuring robust frameworks and proactive oversight.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and expand key relationships with existing clients to foster sustainable growth within critical contracts.
- Strategic Opportunity Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advise on the company’s commercial position for major campaigns and strategic opportunities.
- Bid & Proposition Development: Partner with the Head of Bidding to inform Bid/No-Bid decisions, developing accurate and consistent commercial propositions.
- Risk Mitigation: Lead on comprehensive risk assessments for both current operations and future business ventures, ensuring robust mitigation strategies.
- Governance & Compliance: Take responsibility for signing off all commercial documentation within established authorities and maintaining a central register of commercial instruments.
Our client seeks a commercially astute and strategically minded professional with:
- Defence Sector Experience: Proven experience in a commercial management capacity within the UK defence sector is essential.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong background in commercial management, including solid financial skills and an understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Strategic & Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to make sound commercial decisions and lead complex negotiations.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership capabilities to guide and motivate teams, coupled with excellent customer service skills to foster client growth.
- Organisational Excellence: Exceptional organisational skills, enabling effective prioritisation and deadline adherence.
- Project & Risk Management: A clear understanding of project management principles and robust risk management methodologies.
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be Sole British Citizens and either currently hold or be eligible for UK Government Security Clearance (SC minimum).
