Technical Author – Engineering Projects (Nuclear Site)

We’re hiring a Technical Author with a solid engineering background to join a key UK nuclear site project. Based full-time at Dungeness (4-day week), you’ll be at the centre of a long-term decommissioning programme, creating critical technical content that directly shapes project delivery and safety compliance.
 
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with experience in mechanical or industrial plant environments who can work alongside engineers, designers and SMEs to produce formal procedures, reports and CDM health & safety files. Your documentation will guide construction and deconstruction activity – not just record it.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Producing engineering procedures, reports and CDM-compliant health & safety files
• Reviewing and shaping technical input from engineers, contractors and risk assessments
• Supporting modification proposals, safety case inputs and technical file integrity

 
Requirements:

• Engineering experience in nuclear or high-hazard environments
• Confidence producing or managing formal documentation
• Working knowledge of CDM, MS Office, Adobe and ideally 3D CAD
• A recognised qualification (HNC or equivalent)
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)

 
This is a rare opportunity to secure a 2-year contract with structured hours, a 4-day working week, and a vital role in one of the UK's most tightly controlled nuclear projects.
