Shape the Future of Nuclear Safety
Across the UK, a leading engineering organisation is expanding its nuclear safety capability. From major defence programmes to niche consultancy projects, the work is varied, complex and nationally significant. To support this growth, experienced professionals are invited to explore opportunities at Senior, Principal and Chief Engineer levels.
This is more than a technical challenge. It’s a chance to influence infrastructure that underpins national security, contribute to safety-critical decisions and guide the next generation of nuclear professionals.
A Role That Evolves With You
Whether you're deepening your expertise or stepping into strategic leadership, the organisation offers a platform for progression. Senior Engineers take ownership of safety case delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regulators. Principal Engineers shape strategy, lead technical workstreams and mentor others. Chief Engineers drive innovation, oversee assurance programmes and influence business direction.
Each level brings its own challenges, but all share a common purpose: embedding safety into every stage of the engineering lifecycle.
Technical Depth Meets Real-World Impact
The work spans hazard analysis, fault studies, deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments, and the development of key documentation including PCSRs, PSRs and ALARP reports. Engineers engage with regulatory bodies, support design substantiation and contribute to independent technical reviews.
Experience with Alpha facilities, PWR2/3 systems, docking infrastructure and submarine programmes is valued. Familiarity with digital tools such as BIM, and disciplines like human factors and nuclear fire safety, adds further depth.
Where You’ll Be
Roles are available across multiple UK locations including Bristol, Glasgow, London, Newcastle, Silchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Derby, Epsom, Manchester and Sheffield. Hybrid working is standard, with flexibility to support client needs.
Who You’ll Need to Be
Applicants should hold a relevant engineering or science degree, with Chartered status or working towards it. A background in nuclear safety within defence or similarly regulated sectors is essential. Leadership, collaboration and technical rigour are key.
Due to the nature of work at the client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold SC clearance or can obtain it.
