FMEA Engineer — Bristol — £50,000–£55,000 — Permanent — 3 days a week onsite 2 days remote
From day one, you will see the difference your work makes to the reliability, maintainability, and testability of a complex defence system in active service. You will join a growing systems engineering team working to enhance a critical capability used by armed forces in the UK and internationally.
This role offers the variety of combining detailed Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with practical, hands-on investigation. You will study system architecture, manufacturing processes, and operational feedback, then move into the lab to test solutions and implement improvements.
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary specialists, you will help shape diagnostic procedures, improve testability, and strengthen the system’s robustness to meet evolving challenges. This is work that demands analytical skill, technical expertise, and a creative problem-solving approach.
You will be at the heart of system-level problem solving, while also directly influencing hardware and software components. Every analysis, every test, and every recommendation will contribute to the delivery of safer, more reliable solutions for the future.
