About the role:
- Salary: Circa £75,000
- Location: Hybrid anywhere in the UK
- Title: Associate Ecologist / Associate Director – Ornithological Specialist
Join a collaborative team within a well-established consultancy, delivering high-quality ecological outcomes.
What you will be doing:
- Undertake ecological assessment and habitat design for a variety of development and nature recovery projects
- Plan and implement protected species surveys, mitigation strategies, and licensing requirements
- Develop innovative and pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders
- Lead on ecological aspects of projects, including mentoring and line management
- Manage projects from bidding through to completion, including task allocation, mentoring, and line management
Essential experience:
- Strong ornithological knowledge and practical survey experience
- Working knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological guidance
- Proven project management skills, including client engagement and deliverable oversight
- The ability to undertake UKHab surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
- Membership of CIEEM (or equivalent) with ability to achieve chartership (CEnv or CEcol)
- Full UK driving licence
