Electronic Systems Engineer
You will shape how complex electronic systems are structured and integrated, taking high level requirements and turning them into clear, connected hardware architectures that support real world performance and reliability. This is a role where your system thinking directly influences how equipment is built, validated and delivered.
Essential requirements
• British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
• Eligibility for SC clearance, SC not required in place at start but must be obtainable
• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Strong background in system level electronic design and integration
• Experience defining architectures, interfaces and equipment breakdown structures
• Ability to produce and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Salary and rewards
£52,500 to £57,000 depending on experience
What you will work on
• Translating functional requirements into structured electronic system designs
• Defining equipment architectures, interconnects and subsystem interfaces
• Producing and maintaining system schematics, wiring diagrams and interface documentation
• Supporting system integration, validation and acceptance testing activities
• Working across mechanical, software and firmware teams to ensure cohesive design outcomes
• Supporting root cause analysis and system level troubleshooting activities
Skills and experience
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics
• Experience with system design tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody or MATLAB Simulink
• Knowledge of system integration within complex engineered environments
• Familiarity with safety, EMC and regulatory compliance considerations
• Exposure to communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet or SPI is beneficial
• Experience in regulated industries such as defence, aerospace or similar environments advantageous
Location and setup
Stevenage, hybrid working 2 to 3 days per week onsite
