Launch Management System Lead Engineer Launch Management System Lead Engineer required to support the development, verification and delivery of complex defence systems for a leading high-technology organisation.
This is an opportunity to join a growing Weapon System Equipment engineering function, working across systems, software and hardware disciplines to deliver certification evidence and support critical customer deliveries.
The Opportunity As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for verification activities across the product lifecycle, developing test strategies and procedures and supporting the resolution of technical issues through to successful delivery.
You will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams and have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a complex, multi-disciplinary defence environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Define verification strategies and develop test procedures against system and software requirements
- Support requirements capture, management and verification activities
- Plan and conduct V&V activities within laboratory environments
- Work with hardware, software and test equipment during verification
- Log, track and support the resolution of defects identified during testing and customer activities
- Manage assigned work packages against schedule, cost, quality and performance requirements
- Use requirements and systems engineering tools such as DOORS and IBM Rhapsody
- Gather verification evidence to support product acceptance and certification
- Contribute to technical reviews and validate technical publications against product requirements
- Present technical information to stakeholders and support engineering decision making
- Experience using requirements and verification management tools such as IBM DOORS
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practices
- Understanding of requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component level
- Knowledge or experience relating to hardware design and build
- Understanding of verification, test procedures and evidence gathering
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Confidence presenting technical information to stakeholders
- Experience producing technical reports and working with configuration management processes
- Salary: Circa £49,000 to £57,000 depending on experience
- Location: Stevenage
- Working pattern: Hybrid, typically 3 to 4 days per week on-site
- Bonus: Up to £2,500 depending on company performance
- Pension: Employer and employee contributions up to 14%
