Your role
- Lead functional safety activities across complex engineering projects from early concept through to delivery and commissioning
- Specify, design and assess control, instrumentation and safety systems
- Apply hazard analysis and risk assessment techniques to safety-critical engineering challenges
- Lead multidisciplinary technical interfaces and support engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Produce, review and approve technical reports, specifications and engineering documentation
- Work directly with clients to define requirements, manage technical scope and address project risks
- Strong knowledge of process control systems and associated electrical, control and instrumentation documentation
- Experience with techniques such as HAZOP, LOPA, SIL determination, FMEA and FTA
- Working knowledge of functional safety standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178 or DO-254
- Experience delivering projects within regulated or safety-critical sectors
- Strong technical report writing and client-facing communication skills
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience and qualifications
- Strong experience delivering engineering solutions within regulated or safety-critical environments
- Practical functional safety, hazard analysis and risk assessment experience
- Knowledge of recognised functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 or IEC 61511
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
